It was the year 2020, the Covid year. Due to the Covid pandemic life was in a standstill position. Durga puja was nearing and we all were mentally prepared that this year we will not be able to see the Durga pratima (murti) also. All were very sad.
Durga puja was only 2 months awaited and during this time two of our friends shifted to Raj Nagar extension. Both of them approached us and said “let’s start a Durga puja this year.”
Initially it was a ‘no, no’ types thing. We all thought it’s impossible as due to Covid getting government. permissions would be next to impossible thing and also we will not get the funds. But to our astonishment we got all the permissions without any hassles and we could raise fund also to host the puja. We felt that goddess is with us and with her divine blessings we organised the Durga puja.
The puja was a grand success and to our astonishment again two of our friends gave us a handsome amount saying that you try to build a mandir and this amount is for that purpose only. This boosting again forced us to dream a Grand Durga Mandir at Raj Nagar Extension.
