Our Story
Born In A Covid Year, Built On Faith
It was the year 2020, the Covid year. Due to the pandemic, life was at a standstill. Durga Puja was nearing, and we were all mentally prepared that this year we would not even get to see the Durga pratima (murti). Everyone was very sad.
Durga Puja was only two months away when two of our friends shifted to Rajnagar Extension. They approached us and said, “Let’s start a Durga Puja this year.”
Initially it seemed impossible — getting government permissions during Covid and raising funds both looked next to impossible. But to our astonishment, we got all the permissions without any hassle, and we raised the funds too. We felt the goddess was with us, and with her divine blessings we organised our first Durga Puja.
The puja was a grand success. Two of our friends even gave us a handsome amount, saying “try to build a mandir with this.” That moment gave birth to our dream — a Grand Durga Mandir at Rajnagar Extension, and a trust that would serve the community all year round.
Faith, Culture & Community
Everything we do flows from three simple commitments.
Devotion
Organising Durga Puja, Kali Puja and Saraswati Puja with sincerity and grand celebration every year.
Community
Bringing the Bengali diaspora of Rajnagar Extension together through Bangali adda, bhog and shared festivity.
Service
Supporting the less fortunate with food, clothing, healthcare camps and education through Jan Sewa Bhandara.
Our Dream: A Grand Durga Mandir
What began with two friends and a hopeful puja in a pandemic year has grown into a trust with a bigger vision — a permanent Durga Mandir at Rajnagar Extension where the community can gather, celebrate and serve all year round. Every donation and every volunteer hour brings that dream closer.
